NA PIARSAIGH kept their fate in their own hands in the Whitebox Senior Hurling Championship after a dramatic 2-20 to 2-20 draw with Doon in Kilmallock.

Peter Casey flicked home a goal with the last action of the game to extend their unbeaten run to three games.

The result was a step towards a place in the semi-finals of the Championship.

For Doon, they will be frustrated after leading by four deep into injury time.

They led by eight at the break goals from Pat Ryan and the quick-thinking Dean Coleman helping them to a commanding position.

The city side kept plugging away and a bright start to the second half saw them cut the deficit. Keith Dempsey was reliably from place balls to keep Shane O'Neill's side in touch.

Scores from Donal Coughlan, Barry Murphy and Dean Coleman helped the east Limerick side to a 0-4 to 0-2 lead after 10 minutes.

Shooting was letting down the city side who had eight first half wides.

However, they took the lead when Peter Casey got his first goal. The Limerick forward was clear through on goal when he got possession but finished well past Thomas Lynch.

Doon's response was impressive.

Pat Ryan got the first goal after turning his man and finished low past Shane Dowling.

Quick thinking saw them soon add a second.

After Dowling fouled the ball 45 yards out from goal, Coleman took the free quickly for the goal.

They pushed the lead to eight by the interval.

However, a quick-fire start to the second period halved the deficit.

They stayed within touching distance but couldn't get back on terms.

With the clock deep in the red, the gap was back out to four points.

Kevin Downes got a smart point to reduce the gap before the dramatic last gasp goal from Casey meant a share of the spoils.
