Proud day for Limerick's Longcourt House Hotel

Two awards for staff of landmark hotel in Newcastle West
NEWCASTLE West’s Longcourt House Hotel has been named Business All-Star SuperTeam 2026 by the All-Ireland Business Foundation (AIBF).
Meanwhile, general manager Mario Puchowski has been recognised as AIBF Ambassador to the Tourism and Hospitality Sector 2026.
The achievement marks the hotel’s sixth consecutive Business All-Star Accreditation, recognising its strong team culture, collaboration and consistent approach to guest service.
Mario’s individual recognition marks his third consecutive year as AIBF Ambassador to the Tourism and Hospitality Sector, acknowledging his leadership and contribution to Irish hospitality.
Since its redevelopment and reopening in 2017, Longcourt House Hotel has established itself as a welcoming destination in West Limerick.
Under the ownership of Jim and Mary Long, and the leadership of Mr Puchowski and assistant deputy general manager Ela Puchowska, the hotel has developed a team culture centred on collaboration, shared responsibility and high standards of service.
The Business All-Star SuperTeam 2026 recognition celebrates that team culture, while Mario’s Ambassador title recognises his continued leadership and influence within the hospitality sector.
Mario Puchowski, general manager of Longcourt House Hotel, said: “We are extremely proud to receive our sixth consecutive Business All-Star Accreditation and to be named SuperTeam 2026. This recognition belongs to our entire team and reflects the care and commitment they bring to the hotel every day.
"I am also honoured to be recognised as AIBF Ambassador to the Tourism and Hospitality Sector for a third year. It is particularly meaningful to receive this recognition alongside such a strong achievement for our team.”
Kieran Ring, Deputy Chair of the AIBF Adjudication Board, said:
“Longcourt House Hotel has developed a strong team culture built around collaboration, leadership and a shared commitment to its guests. Achieving six consecutive years of Business All-Star Accreditation is a significant accomplishment and the SuperTeam title is fitting recognition of the people behind that success.
Mr Puchowski’s third consecutive year as AIBF Ambassador to the Tourism and Hospitality Sector also recognises his sustained leadership and contribution to Irish hospitality.”
Kapil Khanna, the joint chief executive of the All-Ireland Business Foundation, said: “Longcourt House Hotel has demonstrated sustained excellence over six consecutive years, with a team culture that places people and the guest experience at its heart. Mario’s third consecutive Ambassador recognition further reflects the strong leadership behind that success.”
He added: "We evaluate a company’s background, trustworthiness and performance, and we speak to customers, employees and vendors. We also anonymously approach the company as a customer and report back on the experience. The business goes through at least two interviews and is scored on every part of the process against set metrics."
