Sing Out With Strings: Show to mark ten years of outreach

THE Irish Chamber Orchestra will mark a decade of its community engagement programme Sing Out With Strings with a showcase at the University Concert Hall.

TEN! takes place at the UCH on Wednesday, May 30 at 12 noon and will feature 300 children from Le Cheile N.S, St. Mary’s N.S, Thomond Community College and Coláiste Nano Nagle in an “unmissable celebration” of the outreach programme run by the ICO.

“This rollercoaster of music, creativity and fun also features colourful artwork by the students, reflecting a decade of productivity,” says a spokesperson.

“Join the ICO’s Sing Out With Strings troupe for a feast of music and song as they celebrate the youthful expression of melodies, rhythms, harmonies and sounds that move your body and soul,” they added.

The performance will feature an array of new songs and music composed by the children especially for the occasion and members of the ICO will be joined by special guests, renowned rock-guitarist Dave Keary and master of percussion, Noel Eccles.
