Rusagano head to Dingle for high profile TV show

Rusangano Family - mynameisj0hn, God Knows and MuRli

LIMERICK based trio Rusangano Family have been announced as part of the final bill for the eir Other Voices Festival in Dingle this weekend.

The booking, given that the St. James’ Church shows are subsequently broadcast on RTE, is a hugely significant one for the trio of Murli, God Knows and mynameisj0hn, who released one of the albums of the year in the electric and powerful Let The Dead Bury The Dead.

The hip-hop/electro trio join Lisa Hannigan - Belltable bound in December - All Tvvins, Imelda May, Saint Sister and Le Galaxie on the bill, plus Rejjie Snow, Pixie Geldof, Margaret Glapsy, Girl Band and Kojey Radical.

Limerick band windings will also play on the Dingle music trail as part of Other Voices, which runs this weekend and is slated to air on RTÉ2 in 2017.

Meanwhile, closer to home, Rusagano will play a Seoda Shows gig in Dolan's Warehouse on Wednesday, December 21 (doors 9pm, tickets €16).

The trio - who produce 'socially-engaged music that mixes a global variety of cultures and traditions' - have had quite the year, with slots at Electric Picnic and music showcases at SXSW and Eurosonic. Expect to see them on year end best of lists and the Choice Music Prize next year.
