Stella Natalis for Limerick Choral Union

Stella Natalis for Limerick Choral Union

The choral union performs its annual Christmas concert in the UCH on Sunday, December 4

LIMERICK Choral Union return for a very special Christmas concert this December.

The 110 strong choir will welcome home Limerick soprano Sarah Dolan for Karl Jenkins’ seasonal favourite Stella Natalis and Song of Song by Patrick Hawes in a “must see concert for music enthusiasts”.

The choral union, which is firmly embedded in the musical fabric of Limerick having been in existence for more than 50 years, will also perform Mozart's Laudate Dominum and, in a first, Jenkins’ Exsultate Jubilate. Trumpet player Will Palmer will also perform, while Malcolm Green is musical director.

“It's great to be able to have one of our own Limerick sopranos perform with us – Sarah Dolan has the most beautiful voice and will no doubt bring her a-game,” said Lorraine MacMahon.

“The Mozart piece is so sweet to sing, one the choir loves performing and a lovely surprise in store for the audience which hasn't been announced is the performance of Jenkins’ Exsultate Jubilate - which is a first for both Limerick and Ireland.”

The Choral Union perform in the UCH on December 4. See www.uch.ie for more.
