Some of the cast from Coláiste Chiaráin performing in A Night At The Musicals in the Lime Tree theatre
THE multi-talented students of Coláiste Chiaráin, Croom have just finished a very successful run of A Night at the Musicals in the Lime Tree Theatre, Mary Immaculate College.
The hardworking cast and crew had been preparing for this production since September 2015 and put in countless hours after school, during the Christmas holidays, mid-terms and the weekends to ensure it would be a success.
The show took the audience on a trip down memory lane with an evening of song and dance, including hits from musicals including Grease, Annie, Les Misérables, Hairspray, Mamma Mia and many more.
“Over the years Coláiste Chiaráin has been renowned for its remarkable performances of musical theatre. Some past productions are Little Shop of Horrors, We Will Rock You, Grease, The Wiz, Oliver!, All Shook Up, Hi-Tech School Musical, School of Fame and Back to the 80’s. This production of A Night at the Musicals has surpassed them all,” said choral director Mary Kate Hanley.
Along with Ms Hanley, the production team included musical director Noel Lennon, Fergal Moore, producer and Barbara Meaney, choreographer. Like the cast, they also put in a great deal of time and effort into this musical and their hard work was clearly evident in all the productions.
“Congratulations to the cast and crew from Coláiste Chiaráin and all the staff in the Lime Tree theatre. The show was a huge success and we look forward to next year already,” said Ms Hanley.
