It takes place in Castletroy Park Hotel on Saturday night

Drag Hen’s Den All Stars 2026 returns to Limerick this weekend

Who will be crowned on Saturday night?

ONE of Ireland’s longest running drag competitions returns to Limerick this Saturday with a special All Stars edition.

Paddy Doyle, organiser, said: “I’m proud that Drag Hen’s Den has always been about celebrating drag as an art form, and I’m proud that it continues to call Limerick home.

"There’s an amazing amount of artistic energy here, and drag belongs in that conversation. This city deserves events that champion creativity, inclusion and community, and that’s exactly what this show does.”

Now in its 13th year, Drag Hen’s Den has become one of Ireland’s longest running live drag competitions. The 2026 edition introduces Drag Hen’s Den All Stars, bringing back standout performers from previous years to compete alongside new and emerging artists. Two main crowns will be awarded on the night, recognising both legacy and fresh talent.

The show will take place this Saturday, February 21 at the Castletroy Park Hotel, welcoming audiences from across Limerick and beyond.

Paddy says Drag Hen’s Den has built its reputation on accessibility and inclusivity.

“Contestants do not need to be seasoned performers, with first time and emerging drag artists actively encouraged to take part. Over the years the show has featured Drag Queens, Drag Kings and Bio Queens, and has welcomed contestants with autism and other neurodivergent experiences.

“A dedicated WhatsApp group is created well in advance of the show to foster connection, peer support and camaraderie, ensuring that no contestant feels isolated throughout the process,” said Paddy.

He says the competition has also played an important role in supporting the wider LGBTQ+ community.

In 2025, Drag Hen’s Den partnered with The Gay Project for a fundraising raffle in support of local LGBTQ+ services. That same year saw a collaboration with Mia Gold’s Drag School, with their All Star winner Hun Mc Cool delivering a standout performance on the night.

“Drag Hen’s Den has a strong legacy of showcasing talent. Past winner Blu Hydrangea went on to international success, highlighting the platform the competition provides. The 2025 winner, Jackie Off, delivered a deeply emotional performance that stripped drag back to its raw core, ending with an on stage head shave. Jackie returns in 2026 as a judge.

“Despite the show’s long history, Limerick has never taken home the Drag Hen’s Den crown. With several Limerick based contestants competing this year, there is growing excitement that 2026 could finally see the title brought home,” said Paddy.

The show will be hosted by Sheila Fitzpatrick, a much loved figure within the Drag Hen’s Den family. A former competitor herself, Sheila has won Miss Alternative Limerick, Miss Alternative Cork and Miss Alternative Ireland, and is known for bringing warmth, credibility and encouragement to the stage.

“At a time when dedicated LGBTQ+ spaces are increasingly limited outside major cities, Drag Hen’s Den continues to demonstrate the importance of safe, community led arts events in regional Ireland.

"While the show centres LGBTQ+ voices, it remains open and welcoming to audiences of all backgrounds,” concludes Paddy.

No advance tickets sales, admission, €20, payable on the door.
