It’s expected the event will appeal to anyone with an interest in Limerick’s history and architecture in general.
Irish Georgian Society is a membership-driven organisation whose aims are to protect and foster interest in the nation’s historic architecture, decorative arts and designed landscapes and gardens.
Founded in 1958 by the late Desmond and Mariga Guinness, it champions the cause to save and preserve Ireland’s unique and valuable historic buildings and landscapes.
Its Limerick Chapter was established in 1996 by the late Desmond FitzGerald, the 29th Knight of Glin.
He and others had hoped to highlight the importance of Limerick’s Georgian heritage.
It hosts an annual Knight of Glin lecture to celebrate his achievements in Limerick and beyond, details of which will be announced soon.
