Motorists urged to take care following snowfall in Limerick

Snowfall in Kilmallock this Friday

MOTORISTS are being urged to excercise caution following snowfall in parts of Limerick overnight and early this Friday morning.

While all roads remain passable, conditions are said to dangerous on some back roads.

There was heavy snowfall in the city at around 6am while snowfall has also been reported in rural parts of the county – particulary in the east and south and in higher areas.

A national status yellow weather alert, issued by Met Éireann, remains in place until midday.
