There could be snow for Christmas as Met Éireann issue snow-ice warning for five counties

Met Éireann have forecasted snow for the days leading up to Christmas. 

Most of the country is under a status yellow wind warning, which is in effect from Saturday, December 21 until Sunday, December 22.

Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo have all been issued with status yellow wind warnings that will come into effect at 2pm on Saturday, December 21 and remain in place until 2pm on Sunday, December 22.

Clare, Kerry and Limerick have all been issued with status yellow wind warnings that will come into effect at 3pm on Saturday, December 21 and remain in place until 3pm on Sunday, December 22.

Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim, Louth have all been issued with status yellow snow-ice warnings that will come into effect at 10pm on Saturday, December 21 and remain in place until 9am on Sunday, December 22.

Met Éireann have warned of possible impacts to include poor visibility, temporary icy patches, difficult travelling conditions and fallen trees. 
There is also a risk of wave overtopping sea walls.
