Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland for the coming week with rain and thunder on the way
Met Éireann has warned that wet and windy weather is on the way next week.
The national forecaster says it will become more unsettled next week as low pressure dominates our weather bringing more frequent, and at times heavy, spells of rain and showers.
Current indications suggest that it will be largely unsettled for the rest of next week with further showers, rain and windier conditions as low pressure dominates, Met Éireann says.
Sunday night will see it turn cloudy in the south early on in the night. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will move in over much of Munster and south Leinster by morning. Remaining drier over the northern half of the country with some clear spells, a few mist or fog patches and just isolated showers. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in a light to moderate southeasterly wind.
It will be cloudy on Monday with showery outbreaks of rain spreading across the country from the south, turning heavy and possibly thundery at times. Some bright or sunny spells will develop. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in light easterly or variable wind.
It will become mostly dry on Monday night with rain and cloud clearing eastwards to clear spells and just a few isolated showers. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in a light west to northwest wind.
Tuesday will see some well scattered showers move in from the west and spreading across the country through the day. After a mostly cloudy start sunny spells will develop through the day. Highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees in a light to moderate westerly wind.
Becoming drier on Tuesday night with clear spells as showers largely will die out early in the night. Cloud and rain will develop in parts of the west and southwest towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in a light southwest to south wind.
Wednesday currently looks to be a wet and windy day, according to Met Éireann, with heavy rain spreading northeastwards across the country. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in a moderate, occasionally fresh southerly wind.
