Weekend Weather Forecast - More rain on the way
Temperatures are forecast to plunge below freezing over the next few nights, resulting in mist and fog in many areas, but there are signs that fine weather will return for the upcoming bank holiday.
There will be a mix of sunny spells and showers this weekend before heavier rain moves in from the west on Sunday night and looks likely to persist into the early days of next week.
Sunday will see scattered showers easing for a time with cloud continuing to increase from the Atlantic overnight.
Outbreaks of rain will develop in the west and spread eastwards over Sunday night, into Monday morning.
Some locally heavy falls on higher ground in the west and southwest.
Unsettled few days with risk of some heavier rain early next week but encouraging signs towards the end of it and into the bank holiday. Still long way but I remain positive with some hope of a decent long weekend pic.twitter.com/DF3b7NP44M
