Mild weather is here for Ireland after Storm Kathleen, but that will be short-lived as more unsettled conditions will push over Ireland this week, according to forecasts.
According to Met Éireann, this Tuesday will see "bright and breezy weather with some spells of sunshine and a few scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh and occasionally gusty northwest winds, which will ease later."
While Wednesday will be "dull and misty with outbreaks of rain and drizzle as well as some hill and coastal fog, there'll be some dry spells too, mainly in the east and southeast in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 or 16 degrees in a moderate to fresh southwesterly wind, stronger in some coastal parts."
Carlow Weather on X have said: "The rain tonight [Tuesday] and tomorrow [Wednesday] will bring over 5mm to most areas and over 20mm in parts of West and Northwest. A very wet morning rush hour for many Wednesday morning also so take note."
According to Met Éireann, Friday night will see "the rain and drizzle clear southeastwards on Friday night, with scattered showers following, mainly into western parts. Turning a little cooler as the rain clears, with lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds."
Saturday will be a "bright day with a mix of sunshine and showers, some of the showers heavy, especially in the north and west, with longer drier spells in the east and south. There's the slight chance of hail, especially in the north. Cooler than recent days, with highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees and it'll be breezy with moderate to fresh southwest to west winds, stronger in the west and north."
"Sunday will bring further showers or longer spells of rain, with the chance of hail. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds."
