THE GIRLS and boys in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish must have been especially good this year as Santa Claus visited them over two weeks before the big day.

Santa and Mrs Claus, and even the Grinch, visited over 500 children in their homes while bearing gifts. It is thanks to the volunteer ABC (A Better Community) Group and the Mayor’s Office.

The magic of Christmas filled the air as the fifth annual ABC Santa drive-through brought joy, excitement, and festive spirit to every corner of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.

The event once again transformed the entire parish into a sparkling trail of lights, music, and holiday cheer as Santa and Mrs. Claus and the Grinch made their way through the community to greet local families.

Santa and Mrs Claus and the Grinch spent over three hours visiting every area of the parish, meeting children of all ages and sharing with them the wonder of the season. They were greeted with warm smiles and plenty of Christmas spirit. Each child received a festive selection box - over 500 in total - ensuring no child was left without a moment of joy.

The ABC Group say this cherished annual tradition would not be possible without the incredible support of their community.

They extend their heartfelt thanks to Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention, Caroline and Pat Clarke Browne, The Local Education Committee, Fr Richard Keane, nuns in Bethany, Roxboro gardai, Cyril McSweeney and everyone who volunteered or assisted in making the night truly magical.

“Your dedication and generosity help make this event special year after year, bringing joy and connection to families throughout Our Lady of Lourdes Parish,” say the ABC Group who are already planning for 2026!

“As we wrap up another unforgettable Santa drive-through, we are already looking forward to next year. Plans are already underway, and we hope to make the 2026 event even bigger, brighter, and more joyful than ever before,” said the ABC Group.
