Met Eireann is forecasting more changeable weather for Ireland as models show the possibility of much colder conditions before the end of the month.

Met Eireann says Sunday will bring "a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers." They add that "the showers will be heaviest and most frequent over the western half of the country, with a chance of hail. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with a moderate to fresh and gusty westerly wind."

Their outlook says our weather will remain "changeable with rain or showers at times."
Meanwhile Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather is monitoring a much colder spell of weather coming our way before the end of February.
"In the longer range trends, the GFS model showing a chance of a colder end to the month. One to watch," he added. If the models materialise, temperatures in Ireland would drop well below zero with the chance of wintey precipitation.
Between now and then, our unsettled weather continues.
"Showers will gradually clear northeastwards during Sunday night leaving mostly dry and clear conditions. Some of the showers may be wintry. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees in a moderate to fresh westerly wind," Met Eireann's latest forecast says.
"Monday morning will be mostly dry and bright. There will be a few showers near western coasts and they will extend to most parts of the country during the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in a moderate to fresh west to southwest wind.
"Most areas will become dry with clear spells on Monday night, as the showers become mainly confined to the northwest. Cloud will thicken in the south however, bringing some patches of rain or drizzle. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees with a light to moderate south to southwest wind."
Tuesday will bring "sunny spells across the northern half of the country, with scattered showers continuing in the northwest. Cloudier in the south with patchy rain or drizzle. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with a light to moderate south to southwest wind.
"Cloudy and wet with rain extending nationwide from the west on Tuesday night. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 8 degrees, coldest in Ulster early in the night, in a moderate south to southwest wind.
"Rain will clear northeastwards on Wednesday morning and will be followed by scattered showers and some sunny spells. Milder than recent days with highs of 11 to 14 degrees, in a moderate to fresh southwesterly breeze."
