The Shannonsiders announced the signing of forward Ben Feeney from Athlone Town.

The 22-year-old came through the youth system of Cabinteely FC and made his senior debut for the club against Shelbourne at Tolka Park in July 2021. Feeney went on to make 14 appearances for the club and grabbed three goals.

2022 saw him move to Bray Wanderers, where he made 72 appearances for the Wicklow side over three seasons and grabbed 21 goals during that period. At the start of last season, the forward made the move to the Midlands to join Athlone Town, where he made 36 appearances and netted on three occasions.

Ben Feeney spoke to Treaty United as he signed: "Delighted to be joining Treaty United. Looking forward to the season ahead and playing under Tommy. Can’t wait to get started."

Manager Tommy Barrett commented on Ben’s signing: "I’m delighted to welcome Ben to the club, another quality addition to our attacking options. Still very young, with plenty of experience and the energy and work rate to match. He had some excellent seasons with Bray and Cabinteely before that.

"He played plenty of games last year and was a bit unlucky not to score more goals, but defenders always know that they are in a game with Ben. He comes into every game with a good attitude and work rate, and hopefully he can go on to score plenty of goals for us this season. He certainly has the ability to do so."

Defender Robbie Lynch has also committed his future to Garryowen.

A Broadford native, Robbie is a product of the Treaty United youth system and has been part of the senior squad since 2023. A composed and committed defender, he has continued to develop into an increasingly important player for Treaty.

Robbie has also represented the Republic of Ireland at U18 level, underlining his potential and progression within the game. His performances were further recognised last season when he was named Treaty United Young Player of the Year for 2024.

Robbie Lynch commented: "I’m happy to have re-signed for my 3rd full season at the club where I came through the academy. This club means a lot to me and I can’t wait to get playing in front of the crowd at the markets field again and hopefully push on again from last season."

Tommy Barrett, Manager, Treaty United added: "Robbie is a player who continues to grow season on season. He’s committed, works extremely hard and has a great attitude to improving his game. He understands what it means to play for this club and we’re delighted to have him with us again as we prepare for the season ahead."

The versatile Mark Byrne is the latest player to re-sign for Barrett's charges ahead of the 2026 season.

Byrne came through the Sligo Rovers academy and made the breakthrough to senior football at The Showgrounds. The forward went on to make 40 appearances for the Bit O’ Red including an appearance in a UEFA Europa Conference League first leg tie against Icelandic side FH Hafnarfjörður.

The Mayo native re-signs made the move to Shannonside in February of 2024 where he has played a crucial role in his two seasons at the club so far. In 2024 he made 23 appearances for the club and grabbed 7 goals along with 4 assists in all competitions. 2025 saw Byrne make 32 appearances where he found the net 7 times again and grabbed 6 assists.

Speaking to Treaty United FC, Mark Byrne said: "I’m delighted to re-sign for my third season at Treaty. I really enjoyed last year, we made good progress, and I’m looking forward to building on that and helping the team push on this year."

Manager Tommy Barrett also commented on Byrne’s re-signing: "Delighted to have Mark back, as he has proven to be a valuable player for us over the last two seasons. Lots of quality and able to play in numerous positions. An intelligent, hard-working player and a very good person, as well as a positive role model for the younger players in the group."
