Treaty United players react after conceding their side’s second goal during the Sports Direct Women's FAI Cup semi-final against Bohemians at Dalymount Park on Saturday
TREATY United's bid to reach this season's Sports Direct Women's FAI Cup Final came unstuck when suffering a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Bohemians in front of an attendance of 1,102 at Dalymount Park in Dublin on Saturday afternoon.
A brace of first half goals from Leiagh Glennon and Katie Lovely saw the Dubliners book their place in this season's Cup final.
The defeat ended Treaty United's seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions which dated back to July.
Treaty United manager Sean Russell made three changes from their line-up which drew with Sligo in the league a week earlier as Madison McGuane, Aibhlinn Cotter and Jillian O'Toole came into the starting XI.
Bohemians, who are two places velow Treaty in the SSE Airtricity League Women's Premier Division table, took the lead in the 20th minute when Leiagh Glennon burst down the left, before cutting inside and shooting past the unfortunate LiisaTuomi in the Treaty goal.
The home side doubled their advantage 10 minutes later when Katie Lovely fired home from inside the penalty area.
Into the second half and Treaty United came agonisingly close to pulling a goal back, but Katie Lawlee's powerful effort from 25 yards out crashed off the post before being cleared to safety.
Treaty continued to press for the goal which would have brought them right back into the contest, but it just wasn't to be on the day as Bohemians maintained their advantage to book a place in the Women's FAI Cup decider at Tallaght on October 19.
