IT IS a double-header weekend at the Markets Field as Treaty United’s Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s sides are in action this coming weekend, with the Senior Women’s game being broadcast live on national TV on TG4.

The games begin on Friday, July 11 th when Treaty United’s Senior Men entertain Cobh Ramblers at 7:45PM in the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division. Less than 24 hours later, Sean Russell’s Senior Women’s side will take on Shamrock Rovers at
7:35PM, with coverage on TG4 beginning at 7:15PM.

The Senior Men’s team come into Friday’s game having played out a 1-1 draw away to UCD last weekend. The Students were reduced to ten men early in the second- half and that opened the game up with Lee Devitt grabbing his 14 th goal of the
season a few minutes later. There was to be another twist in the tale as an Adam Brennan strike six minutes from time meant that both sides would share the points.

Manager Tommy Barrett will be disappointed with not taking all three points and will be hoping that his side’s strong home form will help them to pick up all three points against a high-flying Cobh Ramblers side.

The Ramblers sit second in the table, just four points off the top, and come into Friday’s game following a 2-1 win at home to Athlone Town. Mick McDermott’s side have lost just three of their last 14 games, with all of those coming against league-
leaders Dundalk.

Treaty United and Cobh Ramblers have met twice already this season with Cobh emerging as victors on both occasions. Cobh came from 2-0 down to defeat Treaty United 3-2 at the Markets Field on the opening day of the season, while Cobh were
winners by the odd goal in three when the sides met at St. Colman’s Park in May.

Having bowed out of the All-Island Cup last week at the hands of Shelbourne, Sean Russell will be hoping his side can return to winning ways when they return to SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division action. A clinical Shelbourne side put six past
Treaty United in the All-Island Cup. The team will look to put that result behind them and make it back-to-back league wins having defeat Bohemians in late-June.

Shamrock Rovers also departed the All-Island Cup, losing 3-1 to holders Galway United. Rovers have been hit by departures in recent weeks with Irish WU19 international Katie Keane and Senior international Ruesha Littlejohn departing the
club. Rovers still possess plenty of quality and experience, particularly Áine O'Gorman who ranks fourth in the country’s all-time caps record.

This will be the second meeting between the sides with Shamrock Rovers running out 4-1 winners when the sides met in Tallaght Stadium, despite Treaty taking the lead through captain Jillian O’Toole.

Along with all the action on the pitch, Treaty United will be using the weekend to celebrate its academy developments and achievements. On Saturday, prior to the Senior Women’s game, players and coaches from all 6 Academy teams and the
Treaty United Leadership team will be present at the Markets Field for a photo-shoot and get together. Also in attendance will be participants in our Youth Programmes with Treaty Software as title sponsor for our Youth Programmes.
