Boost for Treaty United as experienced midfielder re-signs for 2025 season

Lee J Lynch has re-signed for Treaty United ahead of the 2025 SSE Airtricity League First Division season

TREATY United have announced that midfielder Lee J Lynch has re-signed for the club ahead of the 2025 SSE Airtricity League First Division season.

The Limerick native joined his hometown club during the July transfer window and made a big impact in the second half of the 2024 season with some important goals and assists for Tommy Barrett’s team.

A former schoolboy at Janesboro and Regional United, Lynch's exploits captured the attention of cross-channel clubs, and he signed for West Bromwich Albion in 2008.

After a brief spell in Spain, Lynch returned to Ireland and signed for Drogheda United where he was named their Player of the Season. The following season he moved to Sligo Rovers where he two successful years winning the League of Ireland and FAI Cup.

During that time the Limerick man played in the Europa League and Champions League qualifiers. He had subsequent spells with St Patrick’s Athletic (winning the President's Cup) and Limerick FC before signing with Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Premiership.

Lynch returned for three seasons to Limerick FC playing a pivotal role in getting them into the Premier Division and a League Cup final where he scored a memorable goal to give his side the lead in the Markets Field.

He joined Larne and helped them capture the NIFL Championship and County Antrim Shield and was part of a memorable Europa League qualification campaign.

Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Lynch said he is looking forward to a first full season with his local club: “This is my hometown club. I want to be here and do all I can to help make it as successful as possible.”

Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Treaty United manager Tommy Barrett was delighted to have an experienced player like Lee J Lynch signed up for 2025: “I’m delighted to have Lee J back for next season. He had a really good end to last season and brings good experience and professionalism to the team.”
