Former Kerry FC defender Jack Kavanagh has joined Treaty United
TREATY United have bolstered their squad with the signing of defender Jack Kavanagh.
Twenty two-year-old Kavanagh joins the club having most recently lined out for fellow First Division side Kerry FC whom he helped to reach this year’s Munster Senior Cup final.
A left back, Jack played at MU17 & MU19 level with Dundalk before being promoted to their Senior side in 2021.
Kavanagh departed the Louth based club for Athlone Town in the Summer of 2022 and would go on to make 41 appearances for the Midlanders over one-and-a-half seasons.
The defender played a big role in Athlone finishing the 2022 season strongly before going on to reach the promotion playoffs in 2023, losing out to now Premier Division side Waterford FC.
Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Senior Men’s manager Tommy Barrett was happy to have added to his left-sided options for the second half of the season: “Jack is a young left back with good experience with Athlone town and coming through the Dundalk academy. He will add to our left sided options, fits the age profile of our squad and is a player that will aid the future development of the team.”
Treaty United are back at home this Friday, July 26 when they face Finn Harps in the SSE Airtricity League First Division at 7.45pm in the Markets Field.
