THERE were two locally trained winners on a memorable third day of the Mr Binman Limerick Christmas Racing Festival on Wednesday at Greenmount Park.
The first Limerick success came in the day's opening race when Maidenstreetprince claimed the Kevin Lynch Memorial Maiden Hurdle.
The winner, returned at odds of 15/2, is trained in Ballingarry by Charles Byrnes and was ridden to victory by his son Philip.
Maidenstreetprince, who proved a length and a quarter too good for runner-up Sa Fureur, carried the colours of the Newcastle West-based S Club Six Syndicate.
Maidenstreetprince had finished third on his previous run at Punchestown.
Meanwhile, Athea trainer Eoin McCarthy and Newcastle West jockey Gary Noonan teamed up to record their second success of the week in Limerick when landing the D Pack Packaging Handicap Hurdle with Tomjackwilliam.

The five-year-old was well-supported in the betting, cut in price from as big at 10/1 in the morning to 3/1 favourite and duly obliged in the colours of owner Eilish Geoghegan.
Tomjackwilliam proved a length and a quarter too good for runner-up Seangoell who was returned at odds of 28/1.
The winning combinatrion of trainer McCarthy and jockey Noonan had landed the mares handicap hurdle with Missiee on St Stephen's Day.
Elsewhere on the card, the Willie Mullins-trained Allegorie De Vassy won the Grade Two McMahons Builders Providers Irish EBF Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase at Limerick Racecourse.
The 1/2 favourite was partnered to success by Sean O’Keeffe.
The final day of the Limerick Christmas Racing Festival takes place tomorrow, Thursday, December 29.
