THIS weekend's junior soccer fixtures throws up a mixed bag with plenty of games to tempt the supporters from the comfort of their homes.
One Munster Junior Cup game is down for decision when Fairview Rgs B team welcome Tramore on Sunday morning.
The home side are in fine form, well in contention for the title and belying their tag as a B team.
The Waterford side are sure to provide a stern test, but Fairview are well capable of making it through.
In the FAI Under 17 Cup Pike Rvs game at College Corinthians was cancelled last weekend so they are favoured with home advantage this time out.
There are some enticing Premier League games scheduled with the pick of the bunch, Saturday evening's game between Aisling Annacotty and Fairview Rgs in Annacotty.
Fairview lead the way in the Premier League, along with Pike Rovers but have a game extra played. They cannot afford any slippage and form suggests they enter the tie as favourites.
Aisling seem to have lost their way slightly after a promising start. With the League now out of range, they are playing for pride only and it remains to be seen if that is enough to stir them.
Fellow joint leaders, Pike Rovers, also face a difficult game against a resurgent Nenagh side in Nenagh.
Pike come into the tie after the disappointment of an FAI exit last weekend when they fell on penalties to Peake Villa.
They need an immediate bounce back and will need to be at their best to achieve that.
At the other end of the table Carew Park host Charleville and Mungret Reg welcome Janesboro in vital games for all involved.
In the Premier A League Moyross host a Geraldines side who will return to second place if they can beat the home side. Corbally Utd host Athlunkard Villa in the other tie in the division.
The top sides in Division 1A are in action. It’s second v first when Summerville Rvs welcome Regional Utd B while Caherdavin, hovering in third travel to Star Rvs.
A cracking tie in Division 2A is possible when Aisling Annacotty D take on Nenagh B and in Division 2B Pike Rvs B host Mungret Reg C.
The Open Cup also has some exciting ties on offer. A rampant Herbertstown will be strong favourites at home to Coonagh Utd B while Brazuca B will find it equally tough at home to Croom Utd.
Corbally Utd B will be fancied at Nenagh C while the Prospect v Summerville Rvs local derby should see the home side advance.
Newport C v Mungret Reg D and Lisnagry A v Newtown A also feature a number of sides with genuine hopes of winning the Open Cup.
