Shannon back-row Kelvin Brown has been selected for the Ireland Rugby Students side

SHANNON RFC back-row Kelvin Brown has been selected to start for the Irish Students Rugby side to face Scotland in Belfast next month.

Brown, of Limerick Institute of Technology, starts at blindside flanker in the Irish side which will take on Scottish Students at Queen’s University Belfast on Sunday, February 10.

It will be fomer Ireland U20 player Brown’s first time to represent the side. Brown enjoyed a spell at Aurillac in France's Pro D2, but turned down an offer of a new three-year deal with the club in order to return to home to complete his studies at Limerick IT and line out for Shannon.

The Ireland side is captained by former Munster and Young Munster player Cian Bohane who starts at outside centre.

Former Glenstal Abbey winger Colm Hogan, now of Dublin University, is also named in the Irish backline.

Conor Lowndes, a former Young Munster scrum-half, is listed among the replacements for the international fixture.
