Limerick FC confirm signing of player for 12th season

LIMERICK FC have announce the signing of vastly experienced full-back Shane Tracy for a 12th season.

Tracy will bring invaluable experience to Tommy Barrett’s squad which is continuing preparations for the new SSE Airtricity League First Division season.

Versatile 30-year-old Tracy enjoyed his Testimonial with Limerick FC in 2017 having first signed for the club in 2008

The former Wembley and Arsenal youngster – whose only other League of Ireland club was Galway United where he spent a short stint – has collected two First Division-winning medals with the Shannonsiders.

Limerick FC are due to face Limerick IT in a pre-season friendly at Limerick IT this Wednesday, 12 noon.

Relegated Limerick will kick-off life back in the First Division with a home fixture against Longford Town on Friday, February 22, 7.45pm, with the game due to be played at the Markets Field.

Tommy Barrett’s Limerick side travel to relegated Bray Wanderers for their second league fixture of the season on Friday, March 1, before hosting Drogheda Utd on March 8.

Limerick were relegated to the First Division after losing their two-leg play-off against Finn Harps in November.
