THE €100,000 JT McNamara Ladbrokes Munster National is the highlight of the two-day Munster Weekend of Racing bonanza at Limerick Racecourse this weekend.

The prestigious Munster National is the highlight of a seven-race National Hunt card at Greenmount Park this Sunday, October 14.

The McMahons Munster Mile is the feature race on a seven race flat card at the Patrickswell track on Saturday with the first race due off at 1.35pm.

2012 winner Raz De Maree was one of 23 horses left in Sunday’s Munster National, due off at 4.45pm on Sunday, at Tuesday’s forfeit stage.

The betting for the big race is headed by Black Scorpion trained by Rathkeale handler Eric McNamara.

The seven-year-old is a 9/2 chance to win the three-mile, Grade A contest.

Black Scorpion was an impressive winner at Listowel last month.

Sunday, October 14 at Greenmount Park will also feature Keanes Jewellers Ladies Day. There will also be a fashion show in the new Fashion Zone with the Holman Lee Agency.

A special reserved restaurant package is available at €45 per person and general admission is priced at €15, with the first race off at 1.50pm. More information at www.limerickraces.ie or call 061-320000.
