LIMERICK FC’s disappointing run in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division continued at the Markets Field on Tuesday night when the Blues succumbed 3-0 to in-form Dundalk at the Markets Field.
Limerick’s seventh defeat in the opening third of the season sees the Blues sitting in the relegation play-off position in the table.
Limerick are without a league win in eight games now, with two draws and six defeats since their 1-0 victory over Bray Wanderers at the Markets Field on 9 March.
Two goals in the opening half an hour from John Mountney and Patrick Hoban had Dundalk cruising 2-0 at half-time.
A third goal for the league leaders nine minutes into the second half from Michael Duffy sealed the three points for the visitors.
Dundalk had won the league meeting between the sides at Oriel Park in late February 8-0.
Nexct up for Limerick FC is a trip to Tallaght Stadium on Friday night to face struggling Shamrock Rovers, 8pm.
