BETTING: US Masters to provide entertainment and value this week

Matt Kuchar available at 40/1

Our regular tipster Colm Kinsella has taken a week off this week to count his winnings, so it is up to me to see if we can find value on the fairways of Augusta Georgia.

The favourites list for the 2018 version of the US Masters is a familiar one.

Jordan Spieth leads the way at 10/1, followed closely behind by Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy on 11/1.

The fairytale story, Tiger Woods winning, is now available at 12/1, while the US big hitting duo of Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson are priced at 12/1 and 16/1 respectively.

Evergreen Phil Mickelson is priced up at 16/1, while my own personal favourite for every major (ever) Rickie Fowler is 22/1.

The defending champion Sergio Garcia is a good each way look at 25/1, with some bookies offering a fifth of the odds over eight places.

For this column, we have decided to bow to the knowledge of the Limerick Leader's resident golf expert Ivan Morris.

Ivan's tip for the green jacket this weekend is Matt Kuchar. The ‘Kooooooooooocccccchhhhhhhh’ is priced up at 40/1, so it is a long outside bet, but just imagine your friend's faces when you tell him that you had him before the tournament even started. Enjoy.
