Garryowen host Dublin University in re-fixed Ulster Bank League tie

Garryowen host Dublin University at Dooradoyle this Saturday

SIXTH-PLACED Garryowen have boosted their Ulster Bank League Division 1A play-off hopes when hosting Dublin University in a crucial re-arranged fixture at Dooradoyle this Saturday, 1.30pm.

Victory for Garryowen over the students would take Conan Doyle’s charges above Clontarf in the table and into the top four places.

Garryowen are four points adrift four-placed ‘Tarf and one point behind fifth-placed Young Munster.

Opponents Dublin University occupy the relegation play-off position in Division 1A with four wins from their 12 fixtures to date.

Saturday’s game was postponed last month due to a waterlogged pitch at Dooradoyle.

Garryowen go into Saturday’s game on the back of an excellent 24-16 victory over previously unbeaten Lansdowne at Dooradoyle last weekend.

Garryowen face a Dublin college side for a second successive weekend when travelling to Belfield to take on UCD on Saturday, February 17.
