MUNSTER Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus is hopeful Keith Earls will be passed fit to play in Saturday’s Champions Cup return game with Leicester at Welford Road, 3.15pm.
Irish international Earls picked up a groin injury in Munster’s bonus point win against Leicester at Thomond Park last weekend.
Erasmus said they would give Earls every opportunity to prove his fitness before the side to face Leicester is revealed at lunchtime on Friday.
Erasmus said: “Keith Earls has a little bit of a groin at this stage, we'll give him some proper stage until Friday, but I think he'll be good to go.
“Like all other teams at this point, there's a lot of guys carrying little niggles, but nothing looks too serious at this stage.
“If it was a semi-final this weekend we would definitely play him (Keith Earls), but let's just see. We've got Ronan O'Mahony, who's really been playing well and who's fit to play if we needed him.
“Andrew Conway can slot in on the wing as well so we wouldn't risk him at this stage, but if he's fit by Friday he'll definitely play.”
