MUNSTER have made just one change for Sunday’s trip to Paris for their Champions Cup opener against Racing Metro with South African Jaco Taute replacing Keith Earls in the centre.
Taute will make his European debut against the French Top 14 champions at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir (3.15pm Irish time) as Keith Earls continues to follow return to play protocols, following the concussion he sustained against Leinster in the Guinness Pro12 last weekend.
There was better news for Dave Kilcoyne who has now completed his return to play protocols and will start in the front row, while this weekend sees New Zealand out-half Tyler Bleyendaal and winger Darren Sweetnam make their European debuts in the starting lineup.
The academy’s Dan Goggin, of Young Munster and Brian Scott are also included in their first European matchday squads after being named on the bench.
It’s as you were in the pack from the defeat to Leinster with Kilcoyne joining Niall Scannell and John Ryan in the front row. Donnacha Ryan and Billy Holland partner up in the second row with captain Peter O’Mahony, Tommy O’Donnell and CJ Stander again forming the back row.
Bleyendaal makes his first European appearance alongside Conor Murray in the halfbacks with Tauteand Rory Scannell forming a new centre partnership in the midfield.
A back three of Ronan O’Mahony, Darren Sweetnam and Simon Zebo completes the starting XV.
Racing 92’s lenegdary All-Black out-half Dan Carter misses the game on Sunday.
