TWO Limerick athletes are part of the Irish squad which will compete in the 4x100m relay heats at the IAAF World U-20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland this Friday.
Ciara Neville, also of Emerald AC, and Lauren Ryan, of Dooneen AC, are part of the women’s squad which goes in the relay event which gets underway at 5pm Irish time.
The Irish team has been drawn in lane nine of the third heat, due to begin at 5.14pm.
The first two teams home in each heat plus the two fastest losers qualify for the final which is due off at 6.50pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Limerick athlete Jenna Bromell missed out on a place in the 400m final at the championships.
Bromell finished eighth in her semi-final on Wednesday evening in a time of 55.20.
The 19-year-old Emerald AC athlete had finished third in her first round heat on Tuesday evening in a time of 54.98.
