Truro relegated from National League after narrow defeat at Yeovil

Truro’s return to National League South was confirmed after a 1-0 defeat at Yeovil.

John Askey’s side are 13 points behind 20th-placed Eastleigh with just four games of the season remaining.

The Tinners put in a battling display, with Harry Charsley spurning a golden chance to put them in front after 28 minutes when Joy Mukena’s slip sent him clear, but he was denied by goalkeeper Jed Ward.

At the other end, Will Merry brought a decent save from Aidan Stone in the 41st minute and turned provider for Aaron Jarvis to bring another fine stop from the keeper just before the hour.

Max Kinsey rattled the crossbar with a header late on as Truro went in search of a winner, but it came at the other end as a superb solo effort from Merry snatched Yeovil the points.
