Super-sub Ryan One grabbed an 88th-minute winner for League One leaders Lincoln as they moved to the brink of confirming promotion with a 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon.
City extended their unbeaten run to 23 matches and need just one more point from their last six matches to rubber-stamp their place in the second tier.
The Imps were quick out of the blocks, with a sweeping move resulting in Conor McGrandles firing straight at Nathan Bishop after just 23 seconds.
Then after 23 minutes, Dons midfielder Callum Maycock’s low effort brought a diving save out of City goalkeeper George Wickens.
Lincoln nearly took the lead five minutes before the break when Tom Bayliss’ free-kick from 25 yards smacked against the crossbar and bounced away to safety.
Zack Nelson snatched at a chance after 76 minutes, blasting his effort over the bar as the ball dropped nicely for him in the Imps box.
But City’s best opportunity came at the death and they took it as Dom Jefferies’ cross from the left was met by One and he scrambled the ball over the line to secure another victory.
