DEFEAT was Limerick’s lot in the final round of the National Camogie League this Easter Sunday but John Tuohy’s side still maintain an interest in the competition.
In Bruff they lost to Kilkenny 2-12 to 0-14 in their final group game.
Limerick now advance to a play-off with Cork, with the winner to reach the semi final against Galway. Tipperary play Kilkenny in the other semi final.
Earlier in the competition Limerick beat Cork.
This afternoon a goal in either half from Kilkenny edged them past Limerick.
At half time it was 1-6 to 0-6 and Limerick had battled back to 1-10 to 0-12 entering the final minutes when Kilkenny found their second decisive goal.
Limerick once again had free-taker Niamh Mulcahy in fine form with 13 points. The Ahane star hit two points from play, while Karen O’Leary and Caoimhe Costello were also on target in the narrow loss.
