PAUL O’Connell is teaming up with his former Munster team Mike Prendergast at French Top14 side Grenoble for the coming week.

The French club confirmed that the former Ireland, Munster and Lions captain ‘will spend the next few days’ with the club and is present with Grenoble for today’s home meeting with La Rochelle.

O’Connell’s former Young Munster and Munster team-mate Mike Prendergast is currently the skills coach at Grenoble where Bernard Jackman is head coach.

In a statement, Grenoble indicated that O’Connell is with the team while his family takes in a ski holiday on the ‘last days of open slopes of the Alpe d’Huez’.

Earlier in the day, Canal+ reported that the newly retired O’Connell will apply his line-out expertise over the coming ‘two to three weeks’ with Grenoble.

O’Connell announced his decision to retire from playing in February due to a severe hamstring injury.
