Ireland's 6 Nations players return to Munster

Ireland's 6 Nations players return to Munster

MUNSTER head coach Anthony Foley is expecting to have all six of their Ireland 6 Nations contingent available for selection for Good Friday night’s crucial Guinness PRO12 clash with Zebre at Thomond Park, 7pm.

Foley confirmed that Munster's international representatives will return to their respective centres in Limerick and Cork tomorrow, Tuesday, and then attend the squad’s open training session at Musgrave Park on Wednesday.

The six players in question are Conor Murray, Keith Earls, CJ Stander, Simon Zebo, Donnacha Ryan and Tommy O’Donnell.

Upon their return, the internationals will be reviewed with regard to workload and a decision will be taken on their involvement for the Zebre game later in the week. Following Friday night’s clash with the Italians, Munster face Leinster at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, April 2, 5.30pm.

Centre Rory Scannell sustained a concussion in Friday night's disappointing Pro12 loss to Cardiff Blues at the Arms Park. Scannell joins Mark Chisholm (sustained against Dragons) in following return to play protocols. Both players' potential involvement this weekend will be assessed as the week progresses.

On a more positive note, Duncan Casey (pec) and Tomás O'Leary (groin) will take a full part in training this week with Tyler Bleyendaal (quad) progressing to modified training.
