The Limerick U-21 footballers came very close to causing the shock of the championship against Kerry in Tralee on Wednesday night.
In the end however, their brave effort fell just short as Jack O’Connor’s men won 1-14 to 2-8.
Well-taken goals from Killian Ryan and Brian Donovan put Limerick into a 2-6 to 1-8 lead midway through the second half but points from Killian Spillane got Kerry back on track and they held their nerve to just about get over the finish line.
