Osman Foyo scores first Sutton goal in vital victory at Hartlepool

Sutton boosted their fight against relegation and dented Hartlepool’s National League play-off hopes with a 2-0 win at Victoria Park.

Pools had the better of the first half, with Jamie Miley and Matty Daly denied before Tyrese Sinclair threatened on several occasions, though Cameron John had to make a sharp block to deny Brandon Njoku at the other end.

Sutton captain Edon Pruti blocked Sinclair’s effort before the visitors took the lead against the run of play, Osman Foyo with his first goal for the club from Lewis Simper’s corner.

Jayden Harris went close to a second late on before Kai Jennings did seal the points from long range.
