JUST days after booking their place in the All Ireland club SHC final, Na Piarsaigh got off to a winning start in the Limerick U-21 championship this Wednesday night.
The five-in-a-row chasing Na Piarsaigh signaled their intent to maintain winning way with a 5-16 to 0-10 win over Mungret in Rathkeale’s Mick Neville Park.
In the delayed round one game Na Piarsaigh were 3-9 to 0-4 ahead at half time.
Four of the Na Piarsaigh team that booked their place in Croke Park’s St Patricks Day All Ireland final last Saturday are eligible for the U-21 grade in 2016 – Ronan Lynch, David Dempsey and Casey brothers Mike and Peter. On top of that many of the subs are underage for the grade.
Round two of the Premier U-21 Hurling Championship is set for next Monday night, February 15.
Ahane v Doon in Knocklong at 8pm
Kilmallock v Patrickswell in Mick Neville Park at 8pm
Na Piarsaigh v Adare in Kilbreedy at 8pm
