Doncaster put more daylight between themselves and relegation-threatened neighbours Rotherham with a 2-1 victory.
Rovers had to come from behind to move eight points clear of the Millers with second-half goals from Brandon Hanlan and Luke Molyneux.
Rotherham were handed a chance to take the lead after just 23 seconds when Duncan Watmore scampered by Jay McGrath and was tripped in the box. Sam Nombe stepped up and sent Thimothee Lo-Tutala the wrong way to give the Millers a third-minute lead.
Josh Benson tested Lo-Tutala’s reflexes with an inswinging free-kick which had to be palmed away.
Doncaster got level with their first real chance on 56 minutes, with two half-time substitutions combining. Glenn Middleton escaped down the left flank and his pinpoint cross allowed Hanlan to smash home.
They netted the winner in the 68th minute when Molyneux chased down and dispossessed goalkeeper Cameron Dawson out of his area and then fired into the empty goal.
Dawson denied Neill Byrne a third with a last-ditch save at the back post but the damage had already been done.
