Scottish Championship leaders St Johnstone played out a 0-0 draw with Raith Rovers in wet conditions at Stark’s Park.
The contest certainly did not lack chances, including a slapstick first-half St Johnstone sequence that began when Kai Fotheringham forced Josh Rae into a diving save after his long-range effort took a huge deflection.
Josh Fowler was in perfect position to pounce, somehow squandering the chance when he clipped the crossbar from inches out, then found himself in the way of teammate Sam Stanton, who directed his effort right into Fowler’s face.
Rovers forward Lewis Vaughan had a goal chalked off for offside and St Johnstone goalkeeper Toby Steward made a double save to deny Dylan Easton then Vaughan before the break, while Jason Holt missed a big chance to seal all three points for the visitors deep in second-half stoppage time.
