Three Limerick players on Ireland U-20s squad

THREE Limerick-based players have been included in the Ireland U20s squad for the upcoming 6 Nations Championship.

The Shannon RFC duo of Kelvin Brown and John Foley are joined in the squad by Young Munster’s Shane Fenton.

In all, seven Munster players have been selected for the 30-man squad, with the Cork Con trio of John Poland, Shane Daly and Dan Walsh joining Sean O’Connor, of Cashel RFC, in the squad.

Ireland U-20s kick-off their 6 Nations campaign with a home game against Wales at Donnybrook on Friday, February 5.

Ireland head coach, Nigel Carolan said: Carolan said: "While we have just the four players returning from last season, we have been really impressed with the attitude and enthusiasm that the new guys have brought with them into the squad.

”We've had a number of camps with this group of players, as well as two warm up games against Leinster and Munster before Christmas, so now we are just looking forward to getting the championship started against Wales”
