Bradford bounce back from New Year’s Day defeat with 2-1 win over Blackpool

Bradford bounced back from defeat on New Year’s Day with a 2-1 victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Aden Baldwin and Will Swan netted either side of Ashley Fletcher’s equaliser as the Bantams put their 3-0 defeat to Mansfield to the back of their minds.

Blackpool, who were thrashed 5-1 by Port Vale in their opening outing of 2026, head into a break from League One action sitting just two points above the relegation zone.

Following a quiet start, Baldwin made the most of a loose ball in the box as he fired home from close range after 25 minutes.

The defender almost doubled Bradford’s lead, with a headed attempt from a corner going just over the crossbar.

The Seasiders pulled themselves level in the 56th minute as Fletcher finished calmly following an impressive ball over the top from Andy Lyons.

Just over 10 minutes later, Graham Alexander’s side edged their way back in front, with Will Swan capitalising on a mistake at the back before slotting past Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
