Barrow secured their first Sky Bet League Two win since October with a 3-1 victory over Tranmere at Prenton Park, ending a nine-game winless run.
First-half goals from Ben Jackson, Charlie Raglan and Isaac Fletcher gave the visitors a commanding lead, before Rovers responded through Patrick Brough after the break.
Jackson opened the scoring in the eighth minute, firing home from 10 yards after a neat pass from Fletcher.
Barrow doubled their advantage in the 18th minute when Raglan nodded into an empty net after Murphy failed to deal with a Jackson corner.
Fletcher made it three in the 32nd minute, reacting quickest to nod home after Murphy could only parry Josh Gordon’s fierce shot.
Rovers pulled a goal back just after the interval, with Brough capitalising on an error from goalkeeper Ben Winterbottom to score from eight yards.
Barrow continued to press, Scott Smith and Whitfield both denied by fine Murphy saves.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 63rd minute when captain Niall Canavan was sent off for a second booking.
Winterbottom injured his shoulder while making a crucial save from Connor Jennings, forcing Wyll Stanway to replace him for the final 13 minutes as Barrow held on for a vital win.
