Port Vale end scoring drought but have to settle for a point at Luton

Port Vale finally ended their lengthy League One goal drought after earning a 2-2 draw against Luton at Kenilworth Road.

The visitors had to do it the hard way as well, falling behind after 26 minutes when Town wing-back Cohen Bramall let fly with a superb 25-yard free-kick that flew into the top corner.

Kal Naismith’s header was straight at goalkeeper Ben Amos before the Valiants had their moment, Ben Waine meeting Ruari Paton’s set-piece with three minutes to go until the break, scoring the club’s first goal for six league games – a run spanning back to October 11.

It looked like Vale might even win for the first time since September 27 as they took the lead in the 54th minute when Paton’s shot was parried by Josh Keeley and Devante Cole tapped into the net.

However, Luton restored parity after 70 minutes when Liam Walsh’s corner was headed in by Mads Andersen.

The Hatters looked the more likely to grab a winner, with Teden Mengi dragging wide and Bramall slicing off target in stoppage time.
