Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Aaron Nemane both scored as MK Dons beat Fleetwood 2-1 in Sky Bet League Two.
Their goals secured a victory that continues the Dons’ recent positive form, with Paul Warne’s side having lost just one of their last nine league games.
Substitute Ched Evans pulled a goal back for Fleetwood, but the Cod Army were unable to mount a fightback to prevent the Dons from taking all the points.
The hosts had early chances, with Mendez-Laing denied by Jay Lynch on a counter-attack and Callum Paterson hitting the side netting with their best opportunities.
MK Dons took the lead from the penalty spot after 37 minutes. Fleetwood keeper Lynch’s challenge on Joe Tomlinson was penalised, and Mendez-Laing converted the spot-kick.
The hosts made it 2-0 in the 68th minute as Nemane rifled home after Paterson’s initial header hit a post.
Fleetwood pulled a goal back a few minutes later when Evans scored from Ryan Graydon’s cross just after coming on.
