Andy Woodman called for his Bromley side to keep the run going as they made it four League Two wins on the spin with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Salford.
First-half goals from Omar Sowunmi and Will Hondermarck were all Bromley needed as they recorded their first ever victory Saturday’s opponents.
Home manager Woodman said: “Other than the first 20 minutes, I thought that was a very professional performance, we looked solid and powerful. I was pleased with how we shut the game down after the second goal.
“We don’t want to be one dimensional with the same team and the same shape and we looked to set things up differently today to make Salford have to consider something different.
“I feel like my team is powerful through the spine and give the team the structure to build from.
“We go to Walsall next week and it will be billed as a top-of-the-table clash but the pressure is all on Walsall.
“We will go to win as we always do. We will be well prepared and drilled knowing the pressure isn’t on us.”
Salford should have taken the lead 20 minutes into the game, an almighty goalmouth scramble saw a shot against the post and they were to rue that miss when Sowunmi headed in his fifth league goal of the season from Ashley Charles’ cross.
One became two just after the half-hour mark with Hondermarck’s half-volley leaving Matt Young unsighted.
Chances were few and far between in the second half with Luke Garbutt’s long-range effort – seven minutes from time – the best of the action.
However Bromley closed out the remainder of the match with minimum fuss to claim maximum points.
Salford manager Karl Robinson said: “That was a typical game at Bromley.
“The bit I’m furious at is the fact we were the better team between the boxes but our finishing was appalling, particularly in the first half.
“I know some of ours fans will be frustrated but the context is important. We are one point off the play-offs with 11 players injured so our team deserves a break.
“My players are trying. To lose Cole Stockton at 11am on the morning of the game – in addition to the other injuries we have – and we still created the best chances in the game.
“The only real frustration is we ran out of ideas in the second half, but that is down to absent numbers.”
