Lincoln moved level on points with Stockport at the top of League One after a hard-fought 2-1 win at home to Doncaster.
The hosts thought they had taken the lead early on when former Rovers loanee Rob Street headed home, only for it to be quickly chalked off for a foul.
Doncaster’s Billy Sharp then saw a fierce shot cleared off the line by Sonny Bradley after Lincoln goalkeeper George Wickens was dispossessed outside his area.
Frankie Okoronkwo put Lincoln in front in the 31st minute, planting a fine header past Thimothee Lo-Tutala following Tendayi Darikwa’s cross from the right.
Rovers’ Luke Molyneux fashioned the first chance of the second half with a wicked long-range attempt that Wickens did well to parry away.
Rovers then drew level when Molyneux’s precise through-ball picked out substitute Brandon Hanlan and he fired in a smart finish.
But barely a minute later the hosts retook the lead when a scramble in the box led to an own goal from another substitute, Robbie Gotts, after Lo-Tutala had saved Ben House’s initial shot.
