Bradford denied top spot after being held by Lincoln

Bradford missed out on the chance to go top of League One after a 0-0 draw with Lincoln at Valley Parade.

Lincoln made the brighter start without seriously testing home goalkeeper Sam Walker.

James Collins should have done better with an early chance created by Adam Reach while Rob Street and Tom Bayliss fired over as the Imps took the game to Bradford.

It took nearly half an hour for the hosts to show some attacking threat with Will Swan shooting across goal before Jenson Metcalfe went close with a curler past the post.

Walker was called upon to make his first save from Reach at the end of a goalless first half.

Fans from both sides stood to applaud after 56 minutes to remember the number who died in the Valley Parade fire during the fixture between the clubs 40 years ago.

Antoni Sarcevic finally tested Lincoln keeper George Wickens after 66 minutes before Walker saved from Ben House.

Tommy Leigh should have scored late on for Bradford from the rebound after Tyreik Wright’s shot was parried.
