A brace of goals from Swiss striker Lorent Tolaj helped Plymouth to a comprehensive 4-0 win at bottom side Burton.
Owen Oseni and Bim Pepple were also on target in a resounding victory as Argyle won in East Staffordshire for the first time, at the ninth time of asking.
After an even first half hour it was Plymouth who struck to seize the initiative. Malachi Boateng, a lively presence in midfield, got to the line and pulled back an inch-perfect low cross for Tolaj to prod home at the near post.
Albion, who had seen a Kyran Lofthouse effort cleared off the line in the opening moments, could have equalised before the break but Tyrese Shade saw his header saved by Conor Hazard.
Instead, it was Plymouth who struck again before half-time. Boateng again involved, heading the ball forwards for Oseni to stretch and poke the ball beyond Brad Collins.
Tolaj grabbed his second of the game 10 minutes into the second half. As Albion struggled to clear he seized on Bradley Ibrahim’s pass to find the bottom corner of the net.
Substitute Pepple added a fourth for Argyle with 10 minutes to go, converting Bali Mumba’s low cross from close range.
